Police are on the hunt for thieves who made off with a tractor in Jedburgh worth £48,000.

The green and yellow John Deere 6930 vehicle was taken from Aim Hire on Edinburgh Road sometime between 5pm on Friday (29th November) and 8am on Saturday (30th November).

The vehicle has a sticker on either side of the bonnet branded with the name 'Alastair Lauder' and had a green loader attachment on at the time.

Police are appealing for any information in relation to the incident. Constable Mark Russel from Police Scotland said: "Those responsible for this theft may try and sell this vehicle on and so anyone who comes across individuals attempting to do so is asked to contact police immediately.

"Similarly anyone who remembers seeing any suspicious activity around Aim Hire on Friday evening into Saturday morning, or who has information that can assist with our enquiries is also asked to come forward."
